Acer did clearly analyse what made the success of the Asus eee pc while designing the Aspire One: An attractive yet affordable UMPC, complementary to the home computer, easy to use for surfing on the web, multimedia and office purpose, out of the box.

Later versions will be available with optional 1GB of RAM memory, internal 2.5″ hard disk of 80GB, or Windows XP as the OS.

Acer integrated two memory card readers on the Aspire One. This is a very practical and useful addition, since you can use a card for storage and an operating system, and still insert the memory card of your digital camera.

Asustek’s new models, the 901 and 1000, while beautiful and quality devices, are far from being affordable as the initial eee pc. In addition, Asus emphasized the production of windows xp models, with a ratio of 75% XP version produced for 25% Linux. So much of freedom of choice.

The Aspire One, with its explosive price, will surely make waves the umpc market.
